Everyone Has A Story - Is Yours Positive?

“Adversity reveals genius, prosperity conceals it.”

--Horace

Today I spoke with several people and heard an

assortment of stories. You may be surprised to hear

that many were downright positive.

Sure there were a few comments like. . .

Our Country is going to H--- In a Hand basket.

I’ve lost 200K in this financial meltdown.

They were few and far between.

What excites and challenges me are the majority

who see this time as an invitation to rediscover- - -

*What is really important, Love, Family, Friends.

*Reassess our work ethic.

*The challenge of being creative in all aspects of

our lives not just business.

*To start something new or change directions

where we usually go straight.

*A willingness to learn Something New.

*Sharing resources on many different levels.

Many people are talking about their New Year

Resolutions and how this year they are different

than the last few years. One person said “The

goals are not new this year, But they are broken

into smaller more manageable changes. And I

am keeping them.” Considering we are going into

the 4th week of January and some people don’t

even make their resolutions stick a week that’s

doing OK.

So how do we make this most of this overall

positive attitude?

Share It

Be a generous spirit and give a smile, a hug, a

handshake, a true complement or a creative

suggestion to other business people, family

too. Offer some help to a friend or colleague.

Make Your Creative Passions Work For You

Think positive thoughts, think about the things

that make you happy and then make them

happen. Remember, when you choose to be

excited, enthusiastic and happy you will be.

Laugh

Laughing releases endorphins, lowers blood

pressure, reduces allergy symptoms and

strengthens the immune system Kids laugh

over 300 times a day, they shouldn’t have

all the fun, should they?

Connect With Friends

We all need contact with others to keep our

minds and spirits energized. If you have a

challenge talk it through with a friend, they

can help you keep things in perspective.

An added benefit of getting in touch with

friends is enjoying some memories and

updates in each others’ lives.

Try Something New.

Step out of your comfort zone, be brave.

You will find life is more fun, and you will

feel fulfilled and ready to take on the next

challenge with renewed energy.

Reward Yourself

If the going gets tough, be a little selfish and

plan something for yourself to look forward

to. Each day can have its’ own small reward,

something special to reward your hard work

can fill you with energy.

In life, you are always filled with choices.

You may opt to have a pessimist’s view and

live a self-defeated life or you may decide to

take the optimist’s route and take a challenging

and fulfilling life. I hope for every ones’

sake you make a conscious choice for optimism.

An optimist in business will see more and better

choices for themselves and their business.

So when challenges do come, you as an

optimist, can and will concentrate on small steps

to work through it and then take advantage of

the learning experience.

This results in a different type of story to

share with friends and colleagues.

Have you noticed that most people don’t want

to spend time around complainers and

gloom and doomers? That their negativity

actually repels others?

People respond positively to optimists.

Optimists typically maintain higher levels of

subjective well-being during times of stress

than do people who are less optimistic.

In contrast, pessimists are likely to react to

stressful events by denying that they exist or

by avoiding dealing with problems. Pessimists

are more likely to quit trying when difficulties arise.

Optimists are healthier and live longer (they are

also easier to be around)

Why not look forward to success in all your

endeavors? Why not be resilient? Like everybody

else you are bound to hit lows sometimes but

don’t just stay there. Climb Out of that pit and

improve your chances of getting back on the

right track. Be a Positive thinker. And why

not inspire others to remove their dark-colored

glasses and see life in the bright side?

You Will Be Glad You Did.

By the way the reason I was calling people today

was because of something I read in my friends blog.

"One of the world treasures that is being consumed
every day now that deserves our recognition is
Pearlcium. That's correct. A simple white powder
that possesses the rare ability to regenerate the
human body and restore health and vitality to the
entire Being more readily than any other substance

GM Foods in the News

Read the News and Scientific Studies published

in the last few months and you will notice that

studies have been showing up in regards to

Genetically Modified Foods.

The term GM foods or GMOs

(genetically-modified organisms) is most

commonly used to refer to crop plants

created for human or animal consumption

using the latest molecular biology

techniques. These plants have been

modified in the laboratory to

enhance desired traits such as increased

resistance to herbicides

or improved nutritional content.

The enhancement of desired traits has traditionally been

undertaken through breeding, but conventional plant

breeding methods can be very time consuming and are

often not very accurate. Genetic engineering, on the

other hand, can create plants with the exact desired

trait very rapidly and with great accuracy. For

example, plant geneticists can isolate a gene responsible

for drought tolerance and insert that gene into a

different plant. The new genetically-modified plant will

gain drought tolerance as well. Not only can genes be

transferred from one plant to another, but genes

from non-plant organisms also can be used.

The best known example of this is the use of B.t. genes

in corn and other crops. B.t., or Bacillus thuringiensis, is

a naturally occurring bacterium that produces crystal

proteins that are lethal to insect larvae. B.t. crystal

protein genes have been transferred into corn, enabling

the corn to produce its own pesticides against insects

such as the European corn borer.

On the surface getting rid of a pest that destroys tons

of grain sounds like a winning situation. But you know

the story doesn't stop there.

Even the pollen from B.t. corn can have a allergic or

toxic effect on insects and people.

Even Butterflies may be affected.

Since most of us are concerned with improving or

sustaining our health and resources, results that show a

lowered immune response, decreasing fertility, allergic

and even toxic reactions are very disturbing.

If you want more information there are many places to

look.

Here is one from the Organic Consumers Association.

One of the things that bothers me is how little this news

makes it into the mainstream media.

Near where I live outside Chicago is a town noted for it's

fertility Doctors. People move here from all over, hoping

and trying to conceive a precious baby. And many

parents are blessed. These trained men and women

keep up to date on all the medical fertility studies from

around the world in order to help those desperate for a

child of their own.

But these medical people are not in the news. Neither

are the results of studies showing that eating GM foods

may lower fertility rates, reduce birth weights and

increase newborn distress and even death.

One friend told me that no one cares, if the study is

done on mice or other rodents, because in their minds the

results don't necessarily bridge over to humans. So, if a

GM food source is used as feed for animals destined for

our tables, and the same GM food is sold in stores for

human consumption, how many generations do you

think it will be before we see results in humans?

Dr. Rulin a Doctor friend explained it this way.

"It is not an easy task to scientifically confirm the effect

in human beings. It may take about 50 to 100 years.

However, it is not so difficult to show this compelling

evidence in animal. To be clear, Chinese, Italian, French,

American, Canadian and German scientists have shown

that the life span of animals or insects in several research

models allows multi-generational studies to be under

taken in a matter of a few years rather than decades."

The comparison between placebo group and the test

group even in double blind studies can be quite

remarkable over 3 or 4 generations.

I personally would rather not be in either group for

testing and caution you to be aware of what you eat,

where it came from and what was done to it before

it got to you.

Dementia - Will Having Good Health Habits Defend You?

Welcome to 2009,

are you making resolutions for better health,
more exercise,
learning something new or
building additional income streams?

2008 has been a challenging year for many
and I think all of us are
ready to start off the
New Year with a new attitude and sense of
determination.

The reason I wanted to write this message with a title about Dementia is that so many of us make resolutions about improving our eating and exercise habits, more time with our loved ones, changes in our lives for our longevity and finances… then life gets in the way and
many of those resolutions (goals) fall by the wayside.

We need to take control and have valid important reasons to follow through with our chosen changes and adjustments.

Below is an article from a new friend giving important reasons for us to pay attention to what our bodies are telling us and to do something about it.

Start Article -------------------------------------------------------------------

Not All Dementia Is Called Alzheimer's
Vascular cognitive impairment impedes ability to organize thoughts, but it is preventable

(Health Day News) A common form of dementia often mistaken for Alzheimer's can be prevented with good health habits, a new report says.

Vascular cognitive impairment (VCI), the second most common cause of dementia, occurs in up to 4 percent of Americans over age 65 and up to 20 percent of those with some form of dementia. Brain damage from multiple small strokes, which can occur from narrowing or blocked arteries in the brain, are often the cause of VCI.

An overview of the disease, published in the December issue of Mayo Clinic Women's HealthSource, notes that people can greatly reduce their risk of developing the disease by lowering their blood pressure, quitting smoking, and keeping diabetes and cholesterol levels under control.

VCI shares Alzheimer's symptoms such as confusion, agitation, language and memory problems, and unsteady gait and falls. However, the first symptom of VCI usually is the declining ability to organize thoughts or actions. In Alzheimer's, memory problems are usually the first sign of the condition.

Is it preventable?
Why not take Pearl Nutrients and see for yourself!

Making sweeping changes in eating, exercising and lifestyle may seem to be a good way to kick off the New Year but my personal feeling is that if you make too many changes all at once it becomes harder to stick with any of them. Family members may have something to say too. A better choice might be to decide on 2 or 3 changes to make now and plan on adding another 2 or 3 changes in a few weeks.

One of the best changes in eating you can make is to add plants. Eating a plant-based diet is healthiest. Choose plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and healthy fats, like olive and canola oil. Example. If you normally eat a meat, a green and a grain for a meal, you can add additional vegetables yellow and red with very little calorie increase. A multi grain roll instead of dinner roll, or a sandwich on dark rye, or even air popped corn instead of chips can increase fiber and nutrients.

Another easy to make change is adding good supplements to your daily nutrient intake. A multi-vitamin may help balance out foods that are grown in depleted soils or even poor food choices. Of course, there can be too much of a good thing. It’s important not to go overboard with vitamins. While a multivitamin can help fill some of the gaps in a less than optimal diet, too much can be harmful. In general, stick close to standard recommended doses in a multivitamin.

Marty and I both believe strongly in the healing effects of taking Pearl Nutrients because of the results we have seen in ourselves and in our friends. But you don’t have to only take our experiences. Scientists have been studying the health effects of taking Pearl for some time. In several human clinical trials blood pressure declined 13 percent systolic and 15 percent diastolic It has also been reported that patients notice fewer headaches, less dizziness and irritability, and improved sleep after taking pearl powder.

The list of studies is pages long and I’m not going to put them here. I will share more information with you about living a better, longer and more prosperous life. The information will be from many sources and different authors and I welcome your comments. Writing about the things that are working well for me in both personal and business as well as information I have and new things I learn always seems to lead me in another direction. Interesting, yes? There will be questions for you too.

Like,
What do you see as the single most important challenge in your life in the new year?

I see clutter as the single biggest thing affecting my life at this time and my
challenge is to really See It – Decide if it is important – If it is, Find A Place For It – If it isn’t, Give, Sell or Through It Away. Starting now with my Dining Room Table used for eating, crafting, meetings, desk and occasional household repairs. (It’s a very good size with all of the leaves in it) Next is my computer.

Last night we rang out the old and rang in the new. And more--much more--can change than simply the dates on the calendar. You can resolve today to change your entire life...or any aspect of your self and your experience that you choose.

Be the best you can be in Health & Prosperity in 2009 and the rest of your life !!!
